Job Description

The Accountant will play a crucial role in the financial management of our organization. This position involves assisting with the month-end close process, including bank reconciliations, allocating charges, preparing journal entries, and reviewing and analyzing financial statements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post accurate journal entries.
  • Complete monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Assist with operating expense accruals.
  • Review general ledger accounts to ensure the accurate recording of assets, liabilities, and expenses.
  • Prepare P&L variance analysis for assigned areas, reviewing financial reports to identify and explain variances.
  • Assist with annual financial statement audits.
  • Contribute to the implementation of scalable processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Handle ad hoc reports and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with general ledger and month-end close processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Competency in reading and understanding technical forms and financial reports.
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional attitude and reliable nature.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with employees and vendors.
  • Knowledge of general ledger systems and procedures, financial charts of accounts, and corporate procedures.
  • Property accounting experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Yardi software preferred but not required.

The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
