Location: Dallas, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift: Monday – Friday - 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary:

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Psychologist to join a premier health system in Dallas, TX. This role involves contributing to policy and practice guidelines, serving as a leader within interdisciplinary teams, and participating in the development of specialized treatment programs. The position focuses on providing high-quality psychological assessments, evidence-based interventions, and crisis management while maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Assessment & Treatment: Conduct psychological assessments via interviews and formal evaluations. Make mental health diagnoses and determine intervention plans. Provide treatment to relieve emotional distress and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as a member or leader of specialty teams to plan and develop patient treatment programs. Collaborate with referring providers to address psychological and social needs.
  • Policy & Practice : Evaluate best practices and treatment outcomes to contribute to specialty area guidelines.
  • Community Education: Educate the broader community regarding services and best practices within the specialty area.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough written records of all sessions and contacts, observing all confidentiality laws and organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify ways to improve work processes, customer satisfaction, and clinical efficiency. Stay current with developments in clinical psychology through seminars, journals, and professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited university.
  • Licensure: Must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
  • Specialization: Explicit training, supervision, and clinical experience or certification in a highly specialized area (e.g., child, palliative, pain, addictions, corrections).
  • Experience: Breadth and depth of training (practicum, internship, or fellowship) in a dedicated specialty setting.
  • Confirmation of APA-accredited Doctoral degree and Internship.
  • Proof of Texas State Board Psychologist Licensure.
  • At least one professional reference from within the last 24 months.
  • A recent NPDB Self-Query Report (active within the last 30 days).

Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of the development of symptoms being treated.
  • Training in evidence-based specialized treatments (EBSTs); certification is preferred.
  • Competency in basic psychological assessment techniques, psychotherapeutic intervention, family systems, and developmental orientation.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet the needs of age-related and handicapped patients, particularly older adults.
