Job Summary

Abacus Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support Lee County Utilities within the Billing Department in Fort Myers, Florida. This position is responsible for accurate data entry, administrative support, and general office duties related to utility billing operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely data entry related to customer billing, payments, and account information
• Assist with utility billing processes, including account setup, adjustments, and verifications
• Review, verify, and correct billing data to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Maintain and update electronic and paper records in accordance with department procedures
• Handle general office duties such as filing, scanning, copying, and document preparation
• Respond to internal inquiries and support billing department staff as needed
• Follow established policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines
• Perform additional clerical or administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous data entry, billing, or office administrative experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Ability to type efficiently and accurately
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional communication skills (written and verbal)

• Office-based setting
• Fast-paced billing department
• Regular business hours with no evenings or weekends

Pay & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $15.98/hour
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
