Financial Systems Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Systems Specialist to support and optimize legal billing platforms and financial applications. This role serves as a vital link between Finance, Billing, and IT teams, ensuring seamless system functionality and supporting core financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, maintain, and optimize legal financial systems such as Aderant, Elite, or 3E, including workflows, templates, and user permissions.
• Troubleshoot system issues related to billing, accounts receivable, and finance functions; perform root cause analysis and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with Billing teams to support invoicing, e-billing, rate management, and client-specific billing needs.
• Develop and run complex reports using system tools and SQL to facilitate billing operations and financial analysis.
• Manage integrations between financial systems and third-party tools including e-billing vendors and reporting platforms.
• Act as subject matter expert, translating business needs into technical configurations.
• Support system upgrades, testing, and documentation, including user acceptance testing (UAT).

Requirements:

• Proven experience configuring and supporting legal financial systems (Aderant preferred; Elite or 3E acceptable).
• Strong knowledge of legal billing processes, including time entry, billing cycles, e-billing, and collections.
• Technical proficiency in SQL and reporting tools; capable of analyzing large datasets.
• Experience troubleshooting application and data issues within financial platforms.
• Ability to bridge technical and functional teams, translating billing requirements into system solutions.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience working directly with system vendors (e.g., Aderant support).
• Exposure to system integrations, APIs, or data workflows between financial platforms.
• Background in a law firm or professional services firm environment.
