This Geologist position will perform work related to the interpretation of geology and ground water resources in the Black Hills area and western South Dakota in general. Extensive knowledge must be developed for geology, ground water resources, and major streams in the Black Hills area. The following skills are required:
Some travel will be required, including overnight stays. This position will interact with, and present to, other organizations in the Black Hills area, such as boards, commissions, and other state and federal agencies. Normal work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. However, fieldwork may require the flexing of the work schedule to include longer work days but not to exceed 40 hours per work week. This is a Full-Time 40 Hours Weekly position with the Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources. For more information, please visit .
Licenses and Certifications:
Only candidates having a Bachelor's degree in geology, earth science, or a closely related field will be considered. A Master's degree is preferred.
