Job Description

About the Opportunity

Our client is a specialist manufacturing partner to the medical device industry, supporting OEM customers from early-stage concept development through to full-scale production. Their capabilities include laser processing, rotary and flatbed die cutting, converting, CNC-enabled manufacturing, and precision assembly.

They are looking to appoint a Medical Device Sales Representative with direct experience in die cutting, converting, or related precision manufacturing technologies. This is a technical, consultative sales role focused on winning new business, growing strategic accounts, and supporting customers across the full product development lifecycle.

The Role

This position is focused on selling complex manufacturing solutions into medical device OEMs. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to support projects from concept and design through to production and long-term account growth.

Target application areas include wearable medical devices, disposable diagnostics, microfluidics, and advanced wound care.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Account Growth

Identify, develop, and win new business opportunities within the medical device sector. Grow and manage key OEM accounts while building strong relationships across engineering, quality, sourcing, and operations teams. Generate opportunities through proactive outreach, customer meetings, and strategic account development. Maintain accurate CRM pipelines, forecasts, and activity records.

Technical and Consultative Selling

Engage customers on application requirements and recommend appropriate manufacturing solutions. Interpret technical drawings, product specifications, and sample parts. Present capabilities across die cutting, converting, laser processing, and precision assembly. Work closely with internal engineering and operations teams to assess feasibility and manufacturability. Support design-for-manufacturing discussions and early-stage product development. Lead technical conversations, plant tours, and capability presentations.

Commercial Execution

Lead RFQ and RFP activity, develop accurate quotations, and support pricing strategies aligned to margin targets. Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to close. Support customer agreements including NDAs and other commercial documentation.

Project and Customer Management

Act as the voice of the customer internally and work cross-functionally to support successful program launches. Manage ongoing communication relating to timelines, changes, and delivery requirements to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Essential Requirements

Proven sales experience within die cutting, converting, or a closely related manufacturing technology is essential.

  • Experience selling technically complex manufacturing solutions.
  • Background in one or more of the following areas: rotary die cutting, flatbed die cutting, converting, laser processing, CNC machining, or precision component manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25 to 50 percent.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience selling into medical device OEMs.
  • Knowledge of pressure-sensitive adhesives, films, foams, and multi-layer constructions.
  • Exposure to ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting applications such as wearables, diagnostics, microfluidics, or wound care.
  • Existing network within relevant medical device markets.

Why Join

This is an opportunity to work with advanced and highly specialised manufacturing technologies while selling into innovative, fast-growing medical device markets. The role offers the chance to support projects from concept through to commercialisation within a technically strong and collaborative organisation with clear growth ambitions.
