Job Description

Senior Manager / Director, Client Services

We are looking for a senior practitioner to join our client services team, advising on complex power and energy infrastructure projects across renewable generation (solar, wind, geothermal), energy storage, thermal power, fuels, and transmission.

Our work is concentrated on complex, high-value decisions: project financings, acquisitions, and critical development milestones. You will be directly engaged with clients (developers, investors, and lenders) bringing independent technical judgment to high-stakes decisions across the project lifecycle. You will distill complex, often imperfect information into clear, defensible positions, and where getting it right is crucial.

Your work will span technical, commercial, and financial due diligence, as well as broader advisory across development, financing, construction, and operations. Typical engagements include evaluating project designs and assumptions, assessing risks embedded in contracts and schedules, supporting investment and lending decisions, and providing ongoing construction and operational oversight. You will work across disciplines translating complex technical details into clear, decision-ready insights.

We operate in small, experienced teams and minimal hierarchy. Senior staff are expected to take ownership of engagements, contribute to client relationships, and mentor junior staff, while also playing a role in shaping proposals and originating new work. This is a role for someone who values autonomy, accountability, and the opportunity to shape client and firm outcomes.

Title will reflect experience, judgment, and demonstrated ability to lead engagements and client relationships.

This role is ideally hybrid and office-based, with flexibility for highly qualified remote candidates. Periodic travel is required.

Profile

  • Deep experience in power or energy infrastructure, typically 10+ years
  • Background in technical consulting, project development, engineering, or a closely related field
  • Strong project management and team leadership experience
  • Commercial awareness: comfortable navigating contracts, counterparties, and project risk allocation
  • Ability to synthesize technical, commercial, and financial inputs into clear recommendations and defend independent views under uncertainty
  • Experience supporting transactions, financings, or major project decisions
  • Clear, concise communication, both written and verbal
  • Self-direction and sound professional judgment; comfortable operating in lean teams
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; advanced degree preferred
  • Professional licensure (e.g., PE) is valued
