Job Title: Senior Audit Manager

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Employment Type: Full-Time (On-Site)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Audit Manager to lead financial and compliance audit engagements for governmental, non-profit, and commercial clients. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, managing audit teams, and delivering high-quality client service. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Audit & Compliance Management

  • Lead and oversee financial statement audits, compliance audits, and internal control assessments
  • Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with applicable standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, GASB)
  • Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify audit risks and develop appropriate audit strategies

Client Engagement & Advisory

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout audit engagements
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop audit staff and seniors
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor team performance
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Project & Quality Management

  • Oversee multiple audit engagements, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets
  • Maintain high standards of audit quality and documentation
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives

Technical Expertise

  • Research and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends
  • Apply knowledge of governmental and non-profit accounting standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and/or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in auditing, with a focus on financial and compliance audits
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards
  • Experience working with governmental and non-profit organizations preferred
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
