Job Description:
Conduct investigations
• Conducts investigations for allegations of sexual harassment, including sexual assault, fondling, quid pro quo harassment, stalking, dating violence, and domestic violence.
• Investigate student conduct concerns regarding alleged student and/or organizational behavior in support of SCCR student conduct process.
• Investigate claims of discrimination and harassment involving students, employees, and affiliates in a timely and professional manner including but not limited to interviewing witnesses, identifying, obtaining, and analyzing relevant evidence, making credibility assessments, conducting complex analyses under relevant legal standards, and producing high-quality investigation reports that will be forwarded to appropriate partners for adjudication.
• Conduct prompt and thorough investigations, acts as an impartial fact finder in the investigation process and works with departmental personnel in reviewing investigative findings.
• Represent the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution with professionalism and maintaining professional standards, in all interactions
Write investigative reports
• Compile investigative findings in a comprehensive, fact-based report, clarifying report findings, and securely document and maintain investigative materials
• Prepare and create clear, consistent, and accurate reports that reasonably reflect the facts identified during investigations
• Ensure reasonable timelines for investigations are upheld and maintain documentation according to records retention schedules using a case management system to ensure compliance
Process assessment and development
• Monitor the Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution Office response and investigation of complaints alleging Non-Title IX and behavioral violations.
• Develop streamlined practices and procedures to ensure a compliant, transparent, and consistent Non-Title IX investigative process is operationalized
• Ensure that investigations are completed in a timely manner to ensure that appropriate due process is afforded
• Follow the requirements of all federal and state laws and regulations (including Title IX) and applicable University regulations and policies
• Maintain detailed and thorough records of all reports, complaints, investigations, and resolutions
Responsible for compliance oversight
• Assist with oversight of regulatory compliance related to records created and maintained through the investigation processes within the Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution team.
• Ensure adherence to federal and state laws, regulations, and institutional policies
• In collaboration with other investigators, work to implement and oversee both compliant processes and associated records
• Collect, analyze, and maintain data related to Non-Title IX and student conduct investigations and utilize information to inform decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and prepare required reports for regulatory agencies
Administrative Leadership & Coordination
• Develop systematic approaches to enhance business processes and operations to align with strategic goals and objectives; Guide development of strategic plan and goals relevant to the area; provide general direction and leadership for goal accomplishment
• Responsible for developing, maintaining, disseminating, and enforcing policies, procedures, and guidelines for areas of responsibility
• Interpret and ensure compliance with departmental and University policies, guidelines, and other relevant regulations
• Manage technology, information systems, and corresponding data utilized for investigation processes
Develop reports, handle special projects, tasks, and other duties as assigned
• Serve on Division of Student Life or University of Florida committees as needed
Normal Work Schedule
• Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM with a 1-hour meal break
• Flexibility to adjust schedule may be required (including occasional evenings and weekends) depending on the demands of position and/or department needs.
Expected Salary:
$58,000-$65,000
